Dear friends, family, and community members, 

We are reaching out with an urgent appeal to support the young son of one of our dear Sisters, who is bravely fighting Sickle Cell Disease (SCD). This inherited blood disorder is especially common among people of African descent and remains one of the most pressing health challenges in Zambia 🇿🇲. 

For this child, SCD means frequent episodes of severe pain—known as sickle cell crises—caused when abnormally shaped red blood cells block blood flow in small vessels. These episodes can be overwhelming and life-threatening, often requiring urgent medical attention. 

Why We Need Your Help
A life-changing medical procedure has been recommended for the child. This treatment will:
• Ensure he can continue receiving the essential monthly care he needs
• Dramatically reduce his severe and recurrent pain
• Improve his long-term health and quality of life
• Allow his mother to return to work and continue supporting her family
Unfortunately, the cost of this treatment is beyond what the family can manage alone. This is why we are appealing to the kindness and unity of our community.
