These Terms govern access to and use of Crowdfundme.Africa, including fundraising, donations, account features, verification, campaign tools and related services. By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms and any additional policy that applies to a feature you use.
1. Using Crowdfundme.Africa
You must provide accurate information, keep your account secure and use the platform only for lawful purposes. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account and for keeping your login, saved-device access and recovery methods protected.
You must be legally capable of entering into these Terms in the place where you live. Where a fundraiser involves another person or beneficiary, you must have a legitimate basis to represent or raise funds for that person and provide any consent or evidence Crowdfundme.Africa reasonably requests.
2. Fundraisers and campaign information
Campaign organisers are responsible for the truthfulness, accuracy and completeness of their campaign title, story, goal, media, beneficiary information, use-of-funds information and updates. Crowdfundme.Africa may request supporting information before or after publication.
New campaigns require platform review before becoming public. If a published campaign is edited, it may be removed from public visibility and returned to review until the changes are approved. Significant changes are retained in the platform audit history.
3. Verification and trust indicators
Identity, organisation, beneficiary or campaign verification means only that specified information or evidence was checked according to the platform process in use at that time. A verification badge is not a guarantee that every statement in a fundraiser is true, that a fundraiser will succeed, or that donating is risk-free.
We may use manual review and approved third-party verification providers. Verification may be repeated or withdrawn if information changes, expires or creates a material risk concern.
4. Donations and payment processing
Donations are processed through approved payment providers and payment methods available for the donor’s country, currency and transaction. Crowdfundme.Africa does not store raw card numbers. A donation is not treated as successful until the relevant payment provider confirms it through the platform’s server-side verification process.
Unless a specific campaign or programme expressly states otherwise, a donation does not create an ownership interest, investment, loan, security or right to financial return.
5. Currencies, conversion and displayed amounts
Crowdfundme.Africa supports multiple currencies. The platform may display a campaign goal in a viewer’s local or selected supported currency using current or cached exchange-rate information. Currency conversions shown before payment may be estimates. The final amount charged, settlement amount, fees and exchange rate are determined by the applicable payment provider and transaction records.
The platform preserves the original transaction currency and relevant conversion information for accounting, reconciliation and audit purposes.
6. Fees
Any applicable platform, payment-processing, payout, currency-conversion or other fee will be disclosed where required before the relevant transaction or in the applicable Fees or Payment & Payout Policy. Fees may differ by country, currency, payment rail or provider.
7. Payouts and withdrawals
Funds are not automatically available for payout immediately after a donor completes checkout. Donations may remain pending or held while payment confirmation, settlement, verification, refund, dispute, chargeback and risk checks are completed.
Payouts may require identity or organisation verification, beneficiary verification, a verified payout destination, reauthentication, two-step verification, risk review and administrator approval. Crowdfundme.Africa may hold, reject, return or delay a payout when required for security, compliance, dispute handling or platform protection.
8. Campaign updates, fund usage and impact reporting
Organisers should keep supporters informed when material circumstances change. Where fund-usage, receipts, impact reports or supporting documents are provided, organisers must not intentionally misrepresent expenditure or upload material they are not entitled to share.
9. Prohibited fundraising and misuse
You may not use Crowdfundme.Africa for fraud, impersonation, deceptive fundraising, money laundering, unlawful controlled substances, prohibited weapons, trafficking, terrorism, sanctioned activity, hate-based fundraising, illegal gambling, unlawful investment schemes, stolen content or other activity prohibited by applicable law or platform policy.
We may pause, restrict, investigate or remove content or accounts where reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, respond to reports or investigate suspected abuse.
10. AI-assisted tools
Crowdfundme.Africa may offer AI-assisted writing, translation, campaign-improvement or support tools. AI output is a suggestion, not verified fact. You remain responsible for reviewing and correcting AI-generated content before using or publishing it. AI must not be used to fabricate beneficiaries, documents, diagnoses, evidence, donations or other material facts.
11. Content and intellectual property
You retain ownership of content you lawfully upload. You grant Crowdfundme.Africa a non-exclusive licence to host, reproduce, resize, transcode, display and distribute that content as needed to operate, secure, promote and improve your fundraiser and the platform, subject to your visibility settings and these Terms.
You must have the necessary rights and permissions for photographs, videos, documents, trademarks, music and other material you submit.
12. Reports, moderation and account action
Users may report campaigns, comments, organisations or suspicious activity. Crowdfundme.Africa may request more information, restrict functionality, place funds or payouts on hold, suspend content or accounts, or take other proportionate action while a matter is reviewed.
13. Refunds, disputes and chargebacks
Refunds, chargebacks and payment disputes are handled according to the applicable payment provider rules and Crowdfundme.Africa policies. Financial records are not silently deleted; reversals, refunds and disputes are recorded in the platform ledger and audit history.
14. Third-party services
The platform may rely on third parties for payments, payouts, identity verification, email delivery, authentication, cloud hosting, media processing, security and other infrastructure. Your use of some features may also be subject to the terms of the relevant third-party provider.
15. Availability and changes
We may update, suspend or discontinue features, countries, currencies, payment methods or integrations where necessary for security, compliance, provider availability or product development. We will take reasonable steps to protect existing financial and account records when changes are made.
16. Platform role and limitations
Crowdfundme.Africa provides technology that helps people and organisations create fundraisers and receive support. Unless expressly stated otherwise, Crowdfundme.Africa is not the organiser, beneficiary, medical provider, charity, financial adviser or guarantor of a campaign. To the extent permitted by applicable law, use of the platform is at your own risk and the platform is provided without a guarantee that a fundraiser will reach its goal or that every third-party statement will prove accurate.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the platform, legal requirements or services change. The current version and effective date will be published on this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the platform or by email where appropriate.
18. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to info@crowdfundme.africa.
