Why this fundraiser matters
My Story
From June 2024, I worked hard to build my small ICT and business services enterprise into a successful business. Through determination, long hours and commitment to serving my customers, the business began to grow. It gave me hope for a better future and, most importantly, a way to support my family.
Unfortunately, my progress was severely disrupted when thieves broke into my business premises and stole three laptops, a copier and stationery in stock. The stolen property was valued at approximately US$2,860.40 at the time of this campaign, based on the current exchange rate as a rough equivalent. This was a devastating loss for a small business like mine. The equipment I had worked so hard to acquire was gone, and the business I had been building was suddenly left struggling.
For a small entrepreneur, losing essential business equipment is not just losing property; it is losing the tools needed to earn a living, serve customers and keep moving forward. Rebuilding has been difficult, but I have refused to give up.
I Am Trying to Rebuild, Not Starting from Zero
Despite this setback, I have made every effort to get my business back on its feet. Through my own efforts, I have managed to purchase a small Canon PIXMA printer and a desktop computer. These have allowed me to continue providing some services to my customers.
However, my current equipment has limitations. I cannot efficiently handle large-volume photocopying jobs, and this limits the customers I can serve and the income the business can generate. I know there is potential for the business to grow, but I need the right equipment to make that possible.
I am therefore seeking to raise US$2,711.19 to purchase one large-capacity photocopier, one additional computer and another Canon PIXMA printer. These tools would help me increase my capacity, handle more customer orders and provide a wider range of reliable ICT and document services.
My Daughters' Education Is One of My Greatest Motivations
Beyond the business itself, there is a deeply personal reason why I am determined to succeed.
I have a daughter who is currently at university, and my business is my only source of income for supporting her education and other essential needs. Every day, I am reminded that the success of this business is connected to her opportunity to continue pursuing her dreams.
My second daughter is also expected to enter university by 2028. As a parent, I want both my daughters to have the opportunity to pursue higher education and build better futures for themselves. I want to do everything within my power to give them that opportunity.
The thought of struggling to meet their educational needs is a heavy burden. Yet, rather than surrendering to the difficulties I have faced, I am choosing to seek support, rebuild what was lost and work towards a more sustainable future for my family.
Expanding this business would give me a better chance of earning a stable income, meeting my current responsibilities and preparing for the educational expenses that lie ahead.
How Your Support Will Make a Difference
I am not asking for help to start a business from scratch. I am asking for a helping hand to rebuild and strengthen an existing business that has already demonstrated its potential.
My fundraising target of US$2,711.19 will go towards:
One large-capacity photocopy machine to handle high-volume jobs and serve more customers.
One computer to improve document preparation, typing and digital services.
One additional Canon PIXMA printer to increase printing capacity and reduce delays.
With this equipment, I hope to attract more customers, increase revenue, improve the quality of my services and make my business more resilient.
A Helping Hand Can Restore Hope
I understand that there are many people and causes deserving of support. That is why I am truly grateful to anyone who takes the time to read my story and consider helping.
Your contribution, whether large or small, would help me move closer to rebuilding my business and protecting the livelihood on which my family depends. If you cannot contribute financially, sharing my campaign with friends, organisations, business owners or potential supporters would also mean a great deal to me.
I have experienced the pain of losing what I worked hard to build, but I still believe that this setback does not have to determine my future. With the right equipment and support, I believe I can rebuild, grow and continue working towards a better future for my daughters.
I am asking for an opportunity to stand stronger again—not only for myself, but for my children and the future I am working so hard to secure for them.
Thank you for reading my story, believing in the potential of a small Zambian business and considering being part of my journey towards recovery and growth.
