The story
Why this fundraiser matters
Help Us Build a Learning and Sports Centre for Children in Njerwa, Malawi
Every child deserves an opportunity to learn, grow, dream and succeed. Help us make that possible.
In Njerwa, Malawi, we have taken the first steps towards making a difference in the lives of children from less privileged backgrounds. Together, my friend and I have started offering children an opportunity to learn, receive educational support and participate in sporting activities.
At the moment, our lessons take place outdoors, using a basic wooden table and benches as our classroom. Despite the limited resources and facilities, the children continue to show up, eager to learn, participate and make the most of the opportunity.
Seeing their enthusiasm has strengthened our belief that every child deserves access to education and opportunities, regardless of their circumstances. However, we know that we can do so much more with the right support.
Our Vision
We want to establish a simple but functional outdoor learning and sports centre where children can access additional educational support in a safe, welcoming and stimulating environment.
Our immediate goal is to construct a sheltered outdoor classroom where children can learn comfortably, protected from the sun and rain. We also want to provide the basic educational resources needed to make their learning experience more meaningful.
Alongside education, we believe in the importance of sport in developing discipline, teamwork, confidence and leadership.
I will be volunteering my time and teaching the children, providing additional educational support to strengthen their academic skills, build their confidence and encourage a love for learning.
My friend will also be volunteering his time to coach the children in basketball, helping them develop their sporting skills, discover their potential and enjoy the benefits of participating in sport.
We also have an existing basketball court that needs further work before it can be fully utilised. With the necessary support, we hope to complete and improve the court so that it becomes a space where children can train, play and develop their sporting abilities.

Our dream is simple: to create a place where children can come to learn, ask questions, develop their talents, play basketball and believe in a future filled with possibilities.
We may not have everything we need today, but we have the determination to start, the willingness to serve and the belief that together we can make a difference.
