Why this fundraiser matters
Human rights abuses in on the increase, our correctional centres are overcrowded, the legal aid scheme is overwhelmed, Nigerians generally lacked legal knowledge and education on issues, litigation in courts are very expensive and beyond the reach of ordinary Nigerians, alternative dispute mechanisms are not known and exploited
The beneficiaries of this fund raising will be
Abused children. raped victims, inmates in correctional centres who are detained without trial, victims of banking fraud, victims of medical malpractice, Employement related abuses, domestic violence victims, Tenancy relationships abuses,
The funds raised is expected to pay for processing of court processes, mobilization of lawyers to assigned matters, financial assistance to victims, investigation, filing of petitions, organising seminars, workshops, street law awareness, setting up of a law office and setting up of a, Foundation for Justice Initiative.
I am hopeful that these lofty objectives shall be met.
